Olivia at 20 Weeks

20121203-133919.jpgIt’s pretty sad how now that I’m back at work, I don’t have much time to write my longer weekly updates. After being a week behind for the last month, I’ve decided that listing bullets is better than losing momentum, since my goal is to document Olivia’s progress each week for at least the first year. THEN we can switch to monthly (maybe).

This week, Olivia:

Successfully transitioned from a bassinet in our room to the crib in her room!! She adapted immediately, and loves that she has so much more room to toss around until she finds a comfy spot (usually on her side, or on her tummy with her butt in the air!). She is still waking up a bit but all she needs is a quick pat and she’s back asleep (other than her 4am feeding, which we’re still doing because otherwise she wouldn’t be eating enough during the day).

Started turning the Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother in her PnP on deliberately. It has a bright orange button and she’ll usually use her foot to press it, but has tried hitting it with her hands and her head! She loves that aquarium – unfortunately for us, it devours C batteries!

Started talking much more, using consonant sounds, sticking her tongue out and also biting her lower lip when she talks.

Started pinching my cheeks! Haha, shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Started pulling her hair, especially while eating. We’re really hoping this is a phase. We try to distract her by putting other things in her hands, but all she wants to do is run her fingers through her hair and pull at it when she’s eating.

Discovered how much she enjoys popping my bubblegum bubbles! It’s crazy!
