Olivia at 14 Months: Week 62

This week, Olivia:

  • Discovered she can move her Anywhere Chair anywhere!
  • Throws food from her high chair and says “all done”.  She is way pickier about textures and flavors that she used to enjoy.  O also likes to take a spoonful of food, fake like she’s about to eat it, and then stick her tongue out so the food falls out.  Then, she’ll grab it in her hand and throw it off the high chair 😛
  • Started squinting at things. I squint quite a bit, so I’m hoping she has just picked up my facial expression
  • Looks for stuff in my bag (milk, snacks)
  • Helps close the door to the laundry room
  • Helps put away groceries by taking items out of the bag and handing them to me
  • Threw a wrapper in the trash without me saying anything!!  I thought it was a fluke so I started handing her things to put in the garbage, and she did it! This is where it helps to have a trash can with a touch-free sensor to prevent her little hands from getting grimy.  I love our iTouchless trash can!
  • Came up behind me and gave me a hug
  • Likes to snuggle with me in the Boba Air

  1. Hi I love your blog and weekly updates. When did Olivia started sleeping through the night? and also at what month would you say it gets easier? Thanks

    • Thanks for the kind words, Aye 🙂 O started sleeping through a full night (7pm-7am) at around 8 months. It got easier much, much earlier than that! At around 3 months, I started feeling human again; the sleep-deprived haze wore off a bit. 4.5/5 months is when it seemed to get a lot easier for me. Olivia had just passed the stormy/fussy phase of Wonder Week 19, which lasted a long time for us, and included a definitive witching hour (early evening) for a couple of weeks. That’s also around the time we moved her into her own room.

Before I became a parent, I took sleep for granted. I didn’t even consider how deprived of it (and obsessed with it) I would be! But take it from me – it gets a lot easier!!

How old is your little one?

  2. hi there, thanks for the reply. my little one is now 5.5 months old. i will say it is now easier in terms of fussiness, she is more interactive and alot more fun now and less fussy. oh boy, before 4 months alot of fussiness and constant holding. Atleast, I can put her down and she will entertain herself for 30 mins or so before needing to be picked up. She used to sleep through the night at 3 months of age but went through 4 months sleep regression and still has not recovered from it. She still wakes 1-3 times a night on a 12 hr sleep schedule. Her bedtime is also getting earlier which I don’t mind. Naps are kind of horrible, 30-40 mins at a time, she has done 60-90 mins on very rare occasions. I think its the sleep that is getting to me the most as I feel tired most of the time. I want to enjoy her more but getting up multiple times at night is really affecting my sleep. After I get up to feed her, I have difficult time falling back to sleep, it takes me hours and when I do finally fall asleep she is up again to feed. I don’t mind getting up once to feed but 2-3 times can be challenging. I’m sure others have it worst. Anyway thanks for letting me vent. I check your blog weekly so please keep it updated. I feel like I know your daughter already just from reading your posts.
